The ingenuously talented artist known as H.E.R is rewarding the R&B world yet again with her melodious realm in her first full length studio album, “Back Of My Mind” celebrating its one week June 18th release on the Today show yesterday.
It was an elating harmonious reunion of music at 30 Rock with fresh-faced fans jamming to H.E.R’s latest tracks including a fantastic rendition to Stevie Wonder’s “Living For The City” that had the crowd two-stepping to each note.
In addition to the lovefest, concert-goers wished the beauteous singer-songwriter a happy twenty-fourth birthday by serenading the musical sensation as she looked on in emotion.
Its no coincidence the musical prodigy paid homage to the Today set as it paved the way in her humble beginnings as a reoccurring guest on the program showcasing her extraordinary versatile skills as the remarkable Gabi Wilson.
Since the tender age of six, Gabi grasped her gift for music through her father who formed a band from his garage. There is where she began learning how to master the art of drums, piano and, bass guitar never knowing these abilities along with her voice would later lead to her to becoming an exceptional virtuoso.
After coming to grips with trying her hand musically as Gabi Wilson, she dove back deep into her roots and in 2016 re-emerged as the artist impeccably known as H.E.R (Having Everything Revealed) releasing her debut EP “H.E.R Volume 1” which gained her instant notoriety with smash mainstream single “Focus”.
Her follow-up EP “H.E.R Volume 2” released another blazing track “Every Kind Of Way” which landed on the soundtrack to the 2018 Tyler Perry film “Nobody’s Fool” starring Tiffany Haddish, Tika Sumpter and Omari Hardwick.
In 2017, her first compilation album “H.E.R” combined tracks from her two EP’s including six additional songs which awarded her two Soul Train Music Awards and a Grammy Award for Best R&B Album, Best Collaboration and Best R&B Performance for love ballad “Best Part” with Daniel Caesar.
Two years later the released of her second compilation album “I Used To Know Her” received endless nominations for amorous duet “Could’ve Been” featuring Bryson Tiller and wining her 2019 BET Award for single “Hard Place” off her fifth EP “I Used To Know Her: Part 2”.
From then on, its been quite the captivating journey for this phenomenal soloist and 2021 is proving just how uniquely gifted she truly is. She’s won a Grammy award for Song Of The Year “I Can’t Breathe” and the Academy Award for Best Original Song “Fight For You” from the film “Judas And The Black Messiah”.
Now with “Back Of My Mind”, she is coming full circle with what she’s been destined to reveal to the world.
